Catherine (Michalczyk) Benevides, 76, of Providence, RI and formerly of Central Falls, RI passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center on Monday, September 25th. Born in Central Falls, RI she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Leona (Bergeron) Michalczyk. She was predeceased by her only sister Delores DeCosta.

Catherine was employed as a Supervisor at Blackstone Valley Industries, Pawtucket,for many years caring for adults with disabilities. Her passion for providing care and support to those with disabilities gave her great joy, teaching individuals essential skills to be able to live independently. She had an equal love for animals, being a fierce advocate and supporter for wildlife and the mission of the RISPCA, she provided a home for many of her beloved pets throughout her years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Laura Beaudry of Smithfield and Lisa Breiner of Smithfield, her five grandchildren, Jillian Beaudry of Fort Collins, CO, Grace Beaudry of Brookline, MA, Lily Beaudry, Michael Breiner and Julia Breiner all of Smithfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrating her life on Saturday, September 30th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Rhode Island SPCA, 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886
